Who we are
HEAVEY TECHNOLOGY was founded by Michael Heavey in 1989 in the pre Celtic Tiger era. Initially, the company supplied label printers and bar coding technology mainly to the indigenous Irish Food Processing sector. Gradually, as the service reputation of the company grew, Multi National companies based in Ireland began to purchase their bar coding systems from Heavey Technology. At this point, HT began to offer turnkey systems incorporating both bespoke hardware and software in order to offer the end users a complete customised automatic identification solution.
In 1993, HT decided to begin manufacturing self adhesive labels, and this now represents a very important element in our business. In 1995 we installed our first radio frequency data communications system, and this too has blossomed into a keystone of our overall operation. At present, we have the following divisions operating in vertical markets:
- Bar Code Printers and Scanners. ie standard product.
- Basic self adhesive labels and tape.
- High end printed labels, with up to 8 colour process.
- Bespoke or customised bar coding/labelling solutions
- Radio Frequency Data communications systems for automated warehouse control.
- Specialised Packaging.
The company now employs 40 people and continues to grow at a modest, sustainable pace each year.The company policy is to grow the business organically, by continuing to re-invest in the business with the mission to provide the best overall auto-id and label service in Ireland.
